Brenda Pedrayes

Director

As the director of Westbridge Academy at Westminster Christian School, I feel privileged to be a part of God’s plan for our students. My passion for exceptional student education began when I taught Sunday school to students with varying disabilities as a teenager. The experience inspired me to pursue a B.S. in Exceptional Student Education from Florida International University, an M.S. Ed. in Early Intervention from the University of Miami, and an Ed.S. degree in Educational Leadership from Barry University in 2016.

I’ve been a part of the Westminster community since 2004, starting as a GRASP program teacher. Later, I served as the program director from 2012 to 2023. During my time in this role, I worked to ensure that the program returned to its roots focused on educational therapy, with all teachers certified through the National Institute of Learning Development (NILD). Our goal was to strengthen students’ cognitive skills so they could reach their full potential under God’s guidance. Additionally, I contribute to the International Dyslexia Association (IDA) Review and Accreditation team for Educator Preparation Programs, supporting education for people who learn differently. I am certified by the State of Florida’s Department of Education in the areas of: Exceptional Student Education and English for Speakers of Other Languages.

With the support of Westminster Christian School, I am excited to design and implement an evidence-based program for dyslexic learners that makes Westbridge Academy a leader in this field. Our community is united by purpose and committed to building a strong community, continuing the distinguished legacy of Westminster Christian School.

I look forward to sharing my enthusiasm for student learning, education, and Christ with the Westbridge Academy community. I am forever grateful for God’s love and the blessings that lie ahead.
